Re - Development

Páirc Tadhg na Samhna was born with the purchase of the ‘Lawn’ site in Drimoleague in 1971 for £7,250 and saw significant development throughout the mid-1980s including the building of the existing changing rooms. These have served the club well in the last 30 plus years and provided many memories for members past and present, however, the opportunity to modernise the club facilities has been in the works over the last couple of years.

The benefits of redevelopment include:

  • 3 changing rooms to maximise use of existing playing areas at peak times
  • Accommodate simultaneous use by both mens and ladies teams with split showers & toilets
  • Allow access for people with disabilities to the clubhouse including toilet
  • Provide facilities for indoor fitness programs in winter months
  • Cater for members and visitors with improved public toilets
  • Improve safety with fire compliance certification
  • Boost energy efficiency with a modern boiler
  • Facilitate club meetings in-house
  • Enhance the club’s profile both locally and in the Carbery division

The significant work carried out by various club committees and support provided by the local community, Sports Capital, Cork County Council and the GAA have brought us to the point where we hope to begin construction in mid-2020. There will be several initiatives throughout 2020 relating to the redevelopment and your continued support is greatly appreciated.
